The Omaha Chamber Music Society returns to the Alan J. Levine Performing Arts Theater at the Jewish Community Center on April 10 at 7 PM with Salud al Amor, a whirlwind program of dance, romance, and possibly a hint of danger for violin, cello, and piano. Music includes Piazzola’s tango-explosion Invierno Porteño, Ponce’s soul-soaring Estrellita, Shostakovich’s humor-stuffed Five Pieces, Gardel’s infamous Por una Cabeza,  and a nod to Fritz Kreisler’s legacy of fiery, breathtaking encores.

The passion is high and the emotions run deep, each piece showcasing a performer’s tendency to show off, take risks, and walk the edge – whether that’s traversing the dance hall, the concert stage or refusing to let one’s feelings be cowed. It’s dance meets flash meets devotion, performed by Omaha Symphony members, and OCMS regulars Bozhidar Shopov, Paul Ledwon, and Christi Zuniga… and you absolutely don’t want to miss it.

This performance is free and open to the public. A repeat performance will be held at Gallery 1516 on Sunday, April 14 at 11:30 AM.
