Leslie Fagan, flute
Leslie Fagan is assistant principal flute of the Omaha Symphony. During the summer months Leslie plays principal flute for the Britt Festival Orchestra in Jacksonville, Oregon. For many years she was an active freelancer and teacher in the Chicago area and was a founding member of the Barossa Quintet. She has been a regular substitute for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and participated in its 2009 Asia Tour of China and Japan. While in Chicago, Leslie was also a substitute/extra player for the Lyric Opera of Chicago and held a one-year position on flute and piccolo during its 2003-04 season. Formerly a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Leslie performed with that organization at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Daniel Barenboim and also has substituted with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Leslie teaches privately and previously was studio instructor for flute majors at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Her teachers include Peter Lloyd, Kathryn Lucas, Trevor Wye, and Walfrid Kujala. Leslie holds a doctorate of music in flute performance from Northwestern University.
