Darci Gamerl, oboe
Darci Gamerl performs internationally as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. She is second oboist with the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra and solo English horn with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and the South Dakota Symphony. She is a passionate educator artist faculty at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Creighton University and College of St. Mary as well as a small private studio of dedicated students.
A musical entrepreneur and innovator, Ms. Gamerl serves on the board for the Omaha Chamber Music Society and is a founding member of I, the Siren, ensemble in residence at University of Nebraska - Omaha. The all-female trio actively commissions new, cutting edge works, concertizes throughout the United States, giving workshops and master classes that focus on the elements crucial to success in today's music scene.
Ms. Gamerl has her Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, a bachelor of music from the University of Nebraska - Omaha and most recently, an Artist Diploma from the Chicago Conservatory of Performing Arts. She has studied with Eugene Izotov, Peggy Michel, Mark Ostoich, Kathy Greenbank, Caroline Park and Kermit Peters.
